Italian-German producer Flavia Oertwig in partnership with Mayer Lex!

Mayer Lex has entered into a new a partnership with Italian/German producer Flavia Oertwig aimed at taking advantage of film financing opportunities available in Germany.

In Germany, the federal and state government support the film and media industry with a strong funding system. In addition, nearly every Federal Land offers its own film funding. The rules vary on the details, but for a film project to receive funding, it not only needs to be of high quality, but also to have a regional connection to the respective Federal Land.

The German-Italian producer Flavia Oertwig has extensive experience in dealing with German funds.
She is the founder of Tama Filmproduktion, a German film production company producing and co-producing feature, documentary films, short films, animation and trans-media digital film projects with a focus on emerging talent.

Flavia studied media theory and philosophy in Hamburg, where she also worked as a tutor and complemented her studies with a postgraduate master's degree in media management at the Spanish Media Business School. She worked in Germany as a script reader, screenwriting assistant (Burkhard Driest) and junior producer, (Babelsberg) in Italy for the distributor Eagle Pictures and as Head of Development (Downtown Pictures, founded by festival veteran, producer Marco Müller). She has also organized jazz events, Mojo Hamburg and art events, (Galleria Neon, Bologna). Flavia Oertwig produced short films and documentary films screened and awarded at international film festivals. She has been invited to programs by Eave, i_doc, the Pixel Lab and the Robert Bosch Foundation with film projects in development or production, including a documentary film project as an author produced by Dugong and herself and backed by a development and production fund of the Sardinian Film fund; the documentary Becoming Omer Khairy, a Sudanese-German copoduction funded by The Arab Fund for Arts and Culture (AFAC), the animated short film Encountering Samir starting its postproduction and funded by the MDM and the Staatskanzlei Thueringen, developed at Berlinale Script Station and winner of the Inter Film Festival Script Pitch Award. Interested in new, digital narrative forms, she produced the 360 ​​° VR film Mare Nostrum – the nightmare backed by the Medienboard, the Sardinian Film Fund and several others to be screened in Festivals and Museums starting end of this year and with a spin off animated series and video game in development backed by the MFG Baden-Wuerttemberg in collaboration with award winning FizBin Studio (Berlin, Ludwigsburg) .

Bilingual and fluent in English and French, Flavia also works as a line producer and production manager for international productions (thousand words, HBO, Sat1, ZDF ...).
